Marina Alta is one of the most beautiful regions on the Costa Blanca

Marina Alta is a picturesque region in the Spanish province of Alicante, located on the northern Costa Blanca. It includes coastal towns such as Dénia, Jávea, Calpe and Moraira, as well as charming mountain towns such as Guadalest and Vall de Laguar. At its heart is the very town of Pego, where the Pego.CC cycling base is located.

The region is famous for its beautiful beaches, cliffs and coves with turquoise waters. It’s also a paradise for water sports, hiking and biking trails in Montgó Natural Park. Marina Alta also delights with vineyards, traditional fiestas and excellent Mediterranean cuisine, with seafood and local wine at the forefront.

The main attractions of the Marina Alta region:

Among the top attractions is the Montgó Natural Park near Denia, offering spectacular views and numerous trekking trails. Also worth a visit are the Cova Tallada and Cueva de las Calaveras caves, which hide fascinating rock formations and the region’s history.

Dénia

Dénia is a bustling port city, known for its impressive castle overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and historic old town. It is also a popular destination for food lovers, offering a wide selection of restaurants serving fresh seafood and local specialties. Ferries depart from the port to the Balearic Islands and beyond.

Jávea (Xàbia)

Jávea delights with turquoise bays such as Cala Granadella and Playa del Arenal, ideal for diving and snorkeling. The town also has a charming old town with whitewashed houses and the Cabo de San Antonio lookout point, which offers a picturesque landscape.

Moraira

Moraira is an elegant seaside town with a beautiful marina, ideal for sailing and luxury vacationers. It is also known for its sandy beaches, such as Playa de l'Ampolla, and its picturesque fortified castle on the seashore.

Calpe

Calpe is a famous coastal town whose symbol is the majestic Peñón de Ifach rock, rising 332 meters above the Mediterranean Sea. The city offers beautiful beaches, a charming old town and the salt lagoons of Las Salinas, where flamingos can be seen.

In addition to entertainment, the city also offers family attractions such as the Terra Mítica and Aqualandia theme parks, and stunning views from the Balcón del Mediterráneo lookout point.
